Hello, my dearest students!
Today we meet again, with some for the first time, with others for the first time of the last year! Summer was short, I can’t deny, and the new school year comes with many changes, for all of us! We’ll get through them and we will be ok!
As the new school year unfolds, I want you to understand that I am here for you! I am here not only to teach you what the program says but also how to be a human being! I am here to teach life skills if you allow me. I am here to show you that teachers can be vulnerable too, can be angry too, can cry too, can have emotions too!
I am here to offer you all the support you need to get through a rough patch. I am here to help you achieve your best version! I am here to make sure you succeed!
But please, allow me!
If you understand that everything that I am doing, every homework I ask, every boring subject I add to the conversation is for your own good! I am not old! Fine, I am old enough to not understand what brat means, or to care about cancel culture, but I am not old enough to forget how to be in your shoes!
I am in your shoes! Remember, I have a Ph.D to do, so I have homework too, maybe people I don’t like, tasks, and deadlines! I’m not old enough to forget how it is to have a hot date and forget about school, nor to forget how it feels to want to sleep late!
I seriously understand you, but please understand me too!
All of us have something to learn from each other, so please allow me to learn first from you: your interests, your passions, your hopes and dreams. If there is anything else worthy I will be all ears! But also, I want to teach you, so please, be open to learning from me!
I hope we’ll have an amazing year together and of course #adreamerlife!
