Hello dreamers, and good afternoon!
How are you spending your day? Or your days before going back to school or work if you are on vacation? Let me know!
Today I want to get back into the summer mood, leave the movies aside and just focus on travel!
Last weekend I discovered a new place in my beloved country Slanic Prahova Salt Mine. It’s one of the largest in Europe and with many health benefits for the respiratory system.
Located in Prahova county, in Slanic Town, around 2 hours from Bucharest, this remote location can give you a healthy recharge.
The road is accessible, maybe a little crowded on the weekends, and the scenery around it can be magnificent if you’re looking through the right eyes. I went from the Brasov side, and it also took about 3 hours, but we also made a stop at Maneciu Lake and had accommodation there.
The accommodation was at Coquette Hotel, one of the most amazing accommodations I ever stayed in, and as a bonus on the first floor, they also have a shop full of amazing things. I am a mug fan, and I bought 2.
Now, back to the Salt mine… Once you get to Slanic, you’ll easily find the parking lot where the minibusses leave for the underground. Yeah, the access is only made by their busses and it takes under 10 euros/person and about 10 minutes.
In the mine, there are about 12-13 Celsius degrees, so it’s better to opt for layers. Also, you might wanna consult with your physicist if you have heart problems, as the pressure inside the mine can affect you.
Now, after you get inside the Salt Mine, you’ll probably be amazed. It’s a tall structure so, if you have claustrophobic tendencies, you might not be as affected as you think. It is very tall, almost 100m tall, and it’s very large.

It has many rooms to visit, showing topics about history, mechanics, sculpture, a planetarium, a photo zone, and a so-called food court, including lots of tables and a store, and lots of coffee machines. It also has a space to lie down and inhale the non-polluted air.

The whole space is filled with amazing energy if you ask me, but it’s probably the fresh salty air that is good for your body and respiratory system.

I’ve attached the pictures and soon you’ll have a reel about it on my Instagram page.
