Hei guys!
I hope you had a great weekend and you are fully recharged. As there are less than two weeks until Christmas, the world is focusing on this exact topic and the result is a lot of stress, anger, disappointment instead of pure feelings (in most cases).
And this being said, it is normal to try to find some ways to keep our sanity during the holiday season! Today, I’m here to help in this manner! I handpicked for you a sanity kit for holidays and, in my printable section, you’ll find some bonuses. Now, let’s begin!
The most important thing for me is to take full advantage of my time, so it’s normal to have some time management miscellaneous in this kit. So, my first item would be my planner but any planner would help you. Write every task you have until Christmas, day by day.
A second tool I use especially during holidays, but with any big event or work sometimes is a mental (or written) map. It’s normal to have many things to do and many places to go but, all the cities are full these days. The traffic is horrific so, we spend more time than usual in cars, taxis, trains whatever. Having your task written down, helps you create a map. You can envision the fastest and easiest way to get from a point to another.
Lists. As I said in the first place, it’s easier to have everything written down. From to-do lists, to wish lists, groceries lists, gift lists, shopping lists. I have lists with the gifts I handcrafted, a list of the meals I have to prepare, the resources I need, and so on. A bonus to these lists is that for many people they are a way to be anxiety-free.
Public transportation. Yeah, you heard it right. Being in your car it’s really helpful when you are shopping or have a lot of things with you. But let’s say you only have to go to work or just want to go the Christmas lights. Not searching for a parking spot, not being stuck in traffic, and in the end getting angry is one of the reasons I choose public transportation. In many cases has priority in traffic so here’s another bonus. If it snows, you don’t have to clean it, you don’t have to unfreeze it in the morning.
Online shopping. Have you ever stayed with only one item, in line to buy it? And in front of you 10 others? I pretty much search for items in the physical store and buy them online, from the comfort of my house.
Magnesium. Yeah, we’re getting on the hard stuff. As the year comes to an end, everyone but everyone wants something at work from you. Even the janitor wants you to clear your desk so he can polish it before 24. In this case, we need patience more than ever. To keep our cool, it’s time to help our bodies with supplements. We’ll find it in drug stores(with medical recommendations) or it stores as chocolate.
Time for ourselves. At the end of the day, take some time to enjoy yourself or you’ll break down. And how you can do it? Well here are some ideas:
- mulled wine (if you have 18 years at least)
- Christmas movies
- long baths
- comfort food
- sweets
These are the things in my sanity kit. In the printable section, you’ll find some free Christmas-themed lists you can download. I hope you find these tips useful and feel free to complete this kit in the comments.
Until then, have #adreamerlife!
