How to stay motivated even after the NEW YEAR HYPE

Hello, and happy Wednesday!

I know that Blue Monday made a point for each and every one of us, but this is why I am here, and this is why I am here now. We needed time to unwind, but now we are ready to go back to our goals!

I know that the New Year Hype is gone with the wind, and I know you find it very difficult to keep the promises you made to yourself two weeks ago. Reality hits hard, prices go up, and uncertainty is what makes it a day. I don’t have a magical potion for you to lose weight, to read more, or anything else. I myself want to quit, but before I do, I try the next things that I hope will help you too.

  1. Thinking about the main goal: Each and every one of us has an end goal, a main goal. Whether it is a lifestyle, a position in society, or a state of mind, these are our end goals. I don’t want to make $10,000 monthly out of YouTube because I want to be famous. I want to make that money so I don’t have to take extra hours, so I can spend more time at home doing what I like. This is the lifestyle. I don’t want to get my diploma because I know that I’ll change the world with it. I want it because I know I get more chances to be taken seriously by having a Ph.D, than not having one. I don’t want to lose weight because I want to become a model. I want to lose weight so my back won’t hurt that much. Just some examples to help you understand where to search. Always have your endgame in mind!
  2. Rethink, regroup, and re-plan. Ok, so maybe sometimes we tend to exaggerate, and we can see that some goals aren’t exactly making us happy, or helping us achieve our end game. And we might have to rethink that list. If you are anything like me, you’ll hate it. For a simple mistake, you’ll throw away the whole planner. But trust me, it’s ok! In the same way, it’s ok to have one goal achieved out of twelve at the end of the year! It’s with one more than nothing.
  3. Don’t take yourself too seriously! When you put too much pressure on yourself, you tend to burn out faster. For example, I went viral on YT, last year, and yet I think I posted 3 videos. I was disappointed in myself, but that doesn’t mean the account wasn’t alive, so this year I decided to lower my effort but to keep the goal!
  4. Monitor your progress through smaller checkpoints. So, let’s say you want to sell Christmas cards this year worth $1,000. Break down the goal into actionable steps, and mark the progress. You have created the Christmas cards; this is 20% progress; you’ve opened a store; this is another 20%; you’ve created social media accounts; another 20%. You sent free samples to influencers for free advertising or whatever another 20%. And you’ve sold the cards another 20%. Or you sold only had, then it’s 90%. And this is how you keep yourself motivated—by seeing what you’ve really done!
  5. Celebrate any win! In the same direction comes celebrating any small win! I remember how happy I felt when I sold my first book on Amazon! Oh boy. I didn’t reach my goal fully, but I sold a book, organically! I did not partner with a brand, but I was twice designated last year as monthly inspiration. As small as it seem, is worth celebrating it, so do it!

Well these are my 5 ways to stay motivated even in the blues of January; let me know which are yours!

Until next time, I hope you live #adreamerlife!
