Are pets the perfect Christmas gifts?

Hello there and happy Friday!

As we are getting closer to the big holiday, it’s time to approach it with much more seriousness and tact and this is why today we have a red question: are pets the perfect Christmas gifts?

I am in different groups of cats, BSH especially, and since Halloween passed all I can see are advertising Best Christmas Gift, Perfect Fit under the Tree, and many more, which encourages buying pets as holiday gifts.

And I am pretty sure not only the British short-hair groups are like this. I am sure all breeds are marketed for this season! But are pets the perfect gift?

If it is to talk about offering them, we must understand that what happens to them is firstly our responsibility, then it comes to the one that receives the gift, but mainly it’s us!

We must think thoroughly about the lifestyle that the receiver has, the maturity, and the possibility of really caring about that soul!

Pets need food, fresh water, play-time, brushing, walking, space but also love, constant attention, vet visits, pills, potty training and depending on the animal, much more!

The idea of having your child grow with it’s pet is amazing, but is your child mature enough to understand the responsibility? To understand that it’s cruel to forget to feed it, or to change the water? It is mature enough to understand that a dog must be walked even when it rains?

Fish need clean water, dogs need walks, cats need attention, birds are loud, and the list continues!

On the other hand, a pet can change your life, especially when you are old enough to understand the change that comes with the unconditional love you get!

And if it is to change our lives, isn’t it better to start by changing the life of a pet in need, that wonders the streets and sleeps in the cold?

Until next time, I hope you have #adreamerlife!
