Oh, Romania

As I am still processing my emotions about the first part of the election, I am writing this article about Romania! Around Christmas many miracles happen, and maybe this is why we decided to celebrate our national day on December 1st. We had our revolution 35 years ago in December, and we have written history once again in almost December.

Normally I’m not doing politics, but I feel the same as I did on 24 February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Normally, I would write an amazing article about how you should visit Romania to celebrate this huge day, but I would not. This year, I feel it’s a joke to try to say something good about a country that’s so fed up with the system that chooses extremists as leaders!

I think it’s everyone’s fault that we ended up with these results. Both those who voted without being documented on the person who they like and those who knew, but didn’t share a thing. I am one of those. Too comfy to bother to open my mouth and share what I learned about the so-called surprise candidate.

He appeared in my feed too, I liked him, and then I found out about his past. But I didn’t even think about him getting those may chances, so I didn’t discuss it.

He was that sweet grandpa making his entrance into politics; he didn’t stand a chance against the system. That’s what we thought and felt right into the social experiment.

When you are pushed to vote against the system but you don’t have many options, I suppose this happens!

When you aren’t used to checking your sources, this happens.

When you find the weak link and decide to exploit it, this happens.

It’s sad, how we ended up thinking that the system isn’t that bad. That we shouldn’t have even gone to vote.

I feel like it’s a sad day, a day of betrayal, but life shall go on!
