Halloween 2024 trend alert

Rise and shine dreamers, cause October is here! And while I do love autumn, and I don’t mean to upstage its beauty, we all know October is about Halloween too!

Monday on class one of my students actually asked me why they have to do a project on this topic, as it’s not our holiday! And while he was right about this, as in this form Halloween has no other holiday in our culture if it is to dig back in time to actually find out what was the holiday about ( giving an homage to the departed ones, in the last night of October, with lights on the grave) we’ll find something similar in the Catholic church. On the night of November 1st, the lights are lit on the graves of our lost ones! Now, from this to the horror part of Halloween is a long run, however, I’m not here to judge, just to sprinkle a little bit of history before we go into the details!

Halloween 2024 is all about making a statement, blending elegance with the eerie to create standout looks that will captivate any crowd. If you’re looking to elevate your spooky season style, dive into these Halloween themes that mix classic horror with a modern twist. Why? Cause, believe it or not, we’re still kinda in the mob wife era, and mixing it with the hottest trend of Cherry Red (which I would keep forever), it’s easy to make a Halloween theme stand out from the ordinary!

1. Gothic Glam with a Cherry Red Twist

Gothic Glam isn’t just about black this year—it’s taking on a rich, deep cherry red. This theme embodies luxury and sophistication, combining opulent fabrics like velvet and lace with bold, dramatic colors. Picture deep red velvet dresses, black lace gloves, and statement chokers for a striking look. The blend of cherry red with black gives a sultry, mysterious vibe that’s perfect for Halloween. To truly embody Gothic Glam, add touches of gold or silver. This theme is all about finding that balance between darkness and elegance.

Go all in for deep red roses, black candles, and velvet fabrics to bring this theme into your home. Incorporate antique gold frames and ornate mirrors to add a luxurious touch to your haunted mansion vibe. Shop second-hand or thrift stores for unique Gothic pieces. You’ll find plenty of lace, velvet, and statement jewelry that can be repurposed into glamorous Halloween attire, making your look both sustainable and budget-friendly.

2. Witchcore Revival with Mob Wife Aesthetics

Witchcore is back, but this year it comes with a twist—mixing in the bold, confident style of a mob wife. Why? Cause only a mob wife can truly pull off a spell! This aesthetic is all about embracing your inner power with an edgy, magical touch so that you can bring the witches to modern days! Picture yourself in a long, flowing trench coat paired with platform boots, oversized sunglasses, and an aura of mystery. Deep cherry red lips and nails bring out the perfect balance between magical and fierce. For this look, combine layers of chunky gold jewelry, tailored blazers, and statement belts with your classic witchcore pieces like shawls, maxi skirts, and mystical symbols. It’s about blending the ethereal with the unapologetically bold.

Incorporate crystal candle holders, dried herbs, and vintage glass bottles for potions around your home. Black-and-white family photos and old-fashioned rotary phones add that mob wife touch, while tarot cards and moon phase decorations keep it witchy. DIY your witchcore accessories by using thrifted or old jewelry pieces. Combine chains, charms, and crystals to create one-of-a-kind statement necklaces and bracelets that perfectly embody your magical vibe.

3. Haunted Academia: Dark Preppy Vibes

The Haunted Academia theme blends preppy fashion with an eerie, ghostly aesthetic. Think of it as a combination of “boarding school meets haunted mansion” or like Georgina Sparks in her Loving God while fighting Poppy era. Dark blazers, plaid skirts, turtlenecks, and loafers are key elements, but with a twist—pair them with lace gloves, chokers, and subtle hints of gothic flair. Add black knee-high socks and chunky loafers or combat boots to ground your look. This theme is perfect for those who want to embrace a more intellectual, mysterious vibe, with elements that hint at hidden secrets and haunted history.

Transform your space into a dark library with leather-bound books, antique clocks, and candle holders. Use old, tattered papers and faded maps as wall art. Add dark, moody lighting and lots of candles to evoke that haunted yet scholarly atmosphere. Thrift shops and vintage stores are treasure troves for the Haunted Academia look. Pick up old blazers, plaid skirts, or classic oxford shirts to create a unique outfit. You can also repurpose items from your closet with a little DIY magic.

Halloween 2024 is all about merging styles, textures, and vibes to create something that’s both eerie and elegant. Whether you’re going for Gothic Glam, the mob-wife-inspired Witchcore, or Haunted Academia, let your personality and creativity shine through. Make your Halloween more than just a costume—make it a statement.

And until next time, as always have #adreamerlife!
