6 years and 2 days of blogging

Daily writing prompt
Why do you blog?

Hello, dreamers once again!

Even if I’m not the kind of spamming my subscribers with 2 articles a day, today is the day I make an exception! While the previous article was scheduled, when I opened my laptop the daily prompt swept up my feet in the context of the 6-year anniversary!

29 August 2018 is the day I started this blog. A young inexperienced kid, who started the writing journey back in the days of We Heart It, the sister of Pinterest, decided to take the problem into her own hands!

With no experience whatsoever, no business plan or model, just a little Gossip girl influence in her storytelling and a place where she can practice her English and write down her feelings hence the Thoughts category!

Why the “Dreamer” tho? Well, because that was the year when I fell in love with this little song …

But why did I fall in love? Well, I remember those years as defining to me! I was in college, I was having new friends, I discovered the independent life, I was falling in love, I’m not romanticizing it, but you know how good was life around the years 2016-2020 before Covid and AI. I found inspiration everywhere and I felt like I truly lived and had time for me and my passions! It was a time when I believed that all my dreams would come true and because of that I was dreaming more and more!

I still am, however, life taught me to make sure I know what my dreams mean and to understand that some dreams evolve with me or I have outgrown them!

As a shy kid, of course, I would’ve shared it with the whole world except my family and friends, and this is why the blog hasn’t grown as fast as it should’ve!

The time passed, my English improved, my horizons enlarged, and I grew up alongside my blog. With the passing of time, I started to experiment and enlarge my expertise and this is how what I could call a Journal blog into the lifestyle blog that is today with a little bit of the real and imperfect me in each category: The recipes I make whether are nutritional and healthy proving my expertise as a food engineer, either just delicious and comfort food proving my expertise as a human being that simply loves tasty food! It can also be the list of books I would love to read, the reviews of the ones that I am actually reading, my dreamy bucket lists, and the reality of a busy young woman who only crosses a few things off the lists.

My friendships, my love interest, my breakups, my feelings, my tips and tricks, my passions, my success and my downfall, my products, my experiences all of them are in this little corner of mine called Dreamer!

With a cover from the place that I can call my soul home, where I go to clear my mind, where I pray and dream and visualize, this is how I blog.

Many asked me why I still blog, cause it’s still not making me money, it’s not landing me brand deals, I don’t make affiliate marketing, it doesn’t give me exposure so I can grow on other social platforms, it takes time as it needs new content, it’s not fully SEO-Optimized, it is a lot of work. With all the school work, college work, Ph.D, Instagrams, YouTube, and Pinterest, doesn’t;t really make sense to invest all the time in it, so why?

Well, it does take more time than the rest, however, I feel more comfortable writing this kind of article than filming and making reels. I feel more comfortable in here to pour my soul out than in any other platform where people are there just for the hate.

And I also feel more accomplished to be real on a platform where I can be me, where I have my small audience to whom I can change their life for the better!

They say if you want to change the world change yourself, and this is what I did. I choose to be authentic and still use blogging instead of vlogging with the risk of never getting viral, of never getting money out of it. I choose to offer a real blog, a real human being with real emotions, real skills, and real experiences, instead of an overly perfect life.

Real people need real experiences, and real people need real influencers, cause life can’t be only ads for haircare, clothing lines, hotels, and other things. Real people need advice, real people need understanding, real people are grey, not only black and white!

This is why I am still blogging, this is why I am here, this is why Dreamer exists, so I can provide real-life, non-staged experiences, so I can give advice, so I can make a change in this world, even a minimum one!

And yeah, I’m still growing, the blog is growing, and changes are natural and to be expected, but this is why I am here to make the world a better place, a dreamier place!

If you resonate with this don’t be afraid to follow alongside!

I wish you all #adreamerlife!
