Hearth of Jesus Statue in Harghita County | Visit Romania // Statuia Inima lui Isus, Harghita

Hello dreamers and happy Wednesday!

After these two weeks of travel, I think it’s best to share some of the gems I found hidden, or not. The first one is little to be known even by Romanians, but it sure is impressive.

As you might know, Romania is a Christian Country, so the religious orientation toward art is inevitable!

The statue Hearth of Jesus is an iron and steel 22 m reproduction of Jesus Christ, with its arms opened on top of Gordon Hill is the largest representation in Eastern Europe. The work of art is the creation of Zavaczky Walter. One thing to be mentioned is that you can use stairs to climb up to the head area where you can have an amazing view over Harghita County.

The road toward the statue is pretty accessible by car, but you can also take a half-hour walk, starting at the bottom of the forest in Lupeni village. Of course, it’s easily findable on maps. In spite of being summer and cloudy, I think it’s even better for an escapade in October!

Another way to get to this point is to take the almost worldly renown VIA TRANSILVANICA road, which has a checkpoint at the statue on the whole exploratory track.

There is no entry fee, and technically is open 24/7. You can also find 2 mini-stores with pastries and different souvenirs!

If this is not enough to be worth a visit, it’s located between Odorheiul Secuiesc and Praid and Sovata, and you can easily link it if you’d love to visit any of these places.

The road can be either through Harghita county, which can be spectacular if they aren’t working on it, especially for motorcycles, either via Brasov, Rupea, Odorhei.

The choice is up to you, and it’s only 3 hours from Brasov and 1 and a half hours to Sighisoara!

I hope you decide to visit and enjoy this little place that brings you closer to Earth, peace and of course it’s a perfect place to escape reality and explore this little corner!

Until next time, I wish you #adreamerlife!
