The book I couldn’t read: The Road to Financial Freedom, Your First Million in Seven Years by Bodo Schafer

Good morning dreamers and happy Monday!

As the new week unfolds, I decided to sit down and open up about an experience I had that might be controversial: the only book until now, I couldn’t manage to fully read! And boy, I tried!

I think about myself that I am an open-minded woman, who reads diverse books especially when I think they will help me.

The same was true for the book The Road to Financial Freedom: Your First Million in seven years by Bodo Schafer. However, that book sat unopened for almost three years, and in March when I decided to open it, I remembered why I quit reading it halfway in the first place!

The book is so cliche! And I get it, it must be this way because all the self-made millionaires probably struggled, and this is what motivated them to change for the better. Still, that book presents everything you find online without searching! Basically, it stated that it’s your fault (like always), that you probably have limiting beliefs, that you have debt, that you can prioritize, and that you must change that, and basically your mindset in order to create a small fortune!

It does have his own personal point of view, talking about his limiting beliefs and how he discovered that what he’s been told are actually his feelings about money.

Also, you can find plenty of exercises to try, but to me, they were so basic, that you can find something similar all over Pinterest.

The book has everything you need: information, explanations, personal examples, and what no self-help book doesn’t miss: exercises. And still, so hard to finish! Maybe this is why I haven’t made my millions yet! Maybe it’s because that million should be made in one year to cover the inflation.

Initially published in 1998, and sold more than 1.5 million copies, of course, the author has financial freedom. But us? Who works three jobs, and is invested in different projects, trying to make it work? It’s all about limiting beliefs or it is because there are just some other bigger players who make the rules? I mean, you all know that I teach both in high school and college, that I have my blog, my Amazon store, and another blogging project! Besides I do crafts! I do pay off my debts, and I do budget, and I do believe that I deserve that money (like everyone), however, besides owning my own house, but not living there, I pay rent in another city. I invested in a property that sure will increase value, so I’m building my net worth, but sometimes, on a day-to-day basis, I don’t see any difference in the quality of life!

(It can be seen how far long It’s been since I opened it, I was a brunette, and I went blonde two years ago! However, I took some nice pictures back then)

Yeah, I’m not saying the book is bad or not to buy it, all I’m saying is that I could’ve done anything else in those hours trying to finish it, and maybe, just maybe, I would’ve had more money in my savings account!

This is it for today, I hope you have a great day and week, and of course #adreamerlife!
