Hello dreamers and happy Tuesday!
As I was heading to bed, I said to say hi, even tho, after we broke up Ash and his babe, he got vocal again, and nights, aren’t nights anymore, and I am so sleepy.
However, as this month comes to an end, and February comes with another travel, I wanted to share some tips and tricks in order to enjoy a winter-friendly getaway. And when I say budget-friendly, I mean it, as my phone decided to go down the stairs two levels only by gravitation not with me, and my new Huawei Mate 50 is waiting in the easybox until tomorrow.
Yeah, a new phone, new tools, that will be an adventure. However, let’s get back to our business.
Winter is a magical season, maybe because snow sparkles in the light, maybe because it’s fantastic that we survive after the cold-freezing days.
There are numerous options for you if you want to experiment this season. If you are in luck and have snow during winter months, it can be just a trip to the next town, however, if you spend all your days sunbathing, just because, finding snow can mean leaving the state.
- Destination: Choosing the right destination is crucial for a budget-friendly winter getaway. Look for locations that offer affordable accommodations and activities. Consider lesser-known gems where you can still experience the beauty of winter without the high price tag. State parks, quaint towns, and off-season ski resorts often provide excellent options.
- Off-Peak Pleasures: Timing is everything when it comes to budget-friendly travel. Opt for off-peak periods to snag the best deals on accommodations, flights, and activities. Mid-week stays are often more affordable than weekends, and planning your trip just before or after peak holiday seasons can save you a significant amount.
- Cozy Accommodations on a Dime: Explore alternative accommodation options to stretch your budget further. Rental properties, cabins, or vacation homes can be more cost-effective than traditional hotels. Websites like Airbnb and Vrbo offer a range of choices, allowing you to find a cozy spot that suits both your preferences and your budget. Another thing I honestly found on Instagram, is “PETSitting”. It allows you to have free accommodation, with the condition to take care of the family’s pet while they are away.
- Winter Wonderland on a Budget: Embrace the winter wonderland without splurging on expensive activities. Many destinations offer free or low-cost winter adventures, such as snowshoeing, ice skating, or hiking. Check for local events like winter festivals or community gatherings to add a touch of seasonal charm to your getaway without spending a fortune.
- DIY Dining: One of the biggest expenses during a vacation is dining out. Save money by preparing some of your meals yourself. Look for accommodations with kitchen facilities, and plan simple yet delicious meals that you can enjoy without the hefty restaurant bill. Local markets can be a great source of fresh, budget-friendly ingredients. Also, from the days we were camping, I remember my grandma always making pots of food before leaving. Why? We had more time to relax, and it was more cheap, as the location where we were going, had a local fair, and the prices went up due to the large amount of tourists.
- Bundle Up with Travel Deals: Take advantage of travel bundles and discounts to maximize your savings. Many websites offer package deals that include accommodation, transportation, and activities at a discounted rate. Research and compare various options to find the best winter getaway package that aligns with your budget.
- Transportation Tricks: Cut down on transportation costs by opting for budget-friendly travel options. Consider driving instead of flying if the distance is manageable. Carpool with friends or family to share expenses. If flying is unavoidable, book your tickets well in advance and explore budget airlines for potential savings.
These are just some simple pieces of advice I offer you. My next getaway is at the end of February. Unfortunately, the only thing was that it was booked in advance and we kinda know how things work there so we could save on the meals. The accommodation or the road isn’t cheap, but there are many extras included like free spa access, an infinity pool with a lake view, and breakfast included. Also, you can have free access to the gym or cinema, playground, and many more!
This is all from me now, I’ll let you plan your next escape! But just before we go, if we talk about travel, let’s give my Ph.D. colleague and friend a little bit of help by hitting that follow button on Instagram as she is launching her platform!
Until next time, have #adreamerlife!
