The valley of the fairies, the clay castle// Castelul de lut, Valea Zanelor

Hello dreamers and happy new week!
As we relax after a long Monday, let’s continue what we started last week: the travel articles. And with what if not with Saturday’s trip to the Valley of the Fairies, the clay castle?

Located in the heart of Transylvania, near Sibiu, and the worldwide known road Transfagarasan, this beauty of a theme park can conquer your soul.

The picturesque road you’ll take from the national road one to Porumbacu de Sus is ripped from a parallel universe where the desire for the big city life, luxury, and fast life, doesn’t exist. With dense forests, small village houses, and lots of animals, you’ll start to feel disconnected from your life, so you’ll be prepared to enjoy the most experience of the Clay Castle.

Once arrive at the Valley of the Fairies, if you are in luck and it’s an easy day, you might even see them.

However, the house of the fairies, the clay castle’s architecture, might make you remember about the middle earth, and the hobbits, as it’s rounded, natural and so perfectly imperfect. From every angle you watch, it’s aesthetically pleasing, and the decor matches its vibe!

You’ll have to pay a fee (the fairies need some money to keep up with bills too), but it’s about 4 euros, and you have access to all the land nearby, including the spring of water that sparkles in the background.

The fairies also sell whatever you need, drinks, food, or souvenirs. They arranged an amazing terrace, and plenty of playrounds to play with the little ones too. Everything is eco and sustainable, as the fairies think about the environment and your health!

If you are more into Instagram and posing, be sure they thought about it too and created special spots for the most memorable shots.

The best part about it? When you are bored of architecture, you can look away to the mountains, mostly covered in snow, and see how little we humans, actually are.

Fairies allow you to climb in their towers, to scout the horizon.

And if you decide you want more magic, nearby, the seasons exposed themselves in another theme park called Story of the Calendar.

Overall, this little oasis of nature, created by humans for other humans to disconnect, started from the idea that we only need to be close to nature and go back to our roots in order to find happiness.

If you are visiting Romania, and especially Transilvania (it’s only 2 hours from Bran castle), you should plan a day to check it. Also, you might find it easy to fly directly to Sibiu, as it has an airport, and the old city also has many interesting places to visit! Accommodation is easy to find also, as the village offers too, but the old city!

P.S. They also have their own website!

Anyhow, enough from me today, I’ll leave you now to enjoy your evening and have #adreamerlife!
