Good evening dreamers!
As we prepare to go to bed tonight, let’s keep in mind that we need to draw a line between our lives at work and at home, otherwise, our minds and bodies will do it for us.
I think each of us ended at least once in our life, at a late hour, doing work and neglecting sleep schedule, family things, and personal time.
And trust me that I know if you’re not doing it, “nobody will”, and the fact that “you’re doing better” or “it’s for the team”. Guilty too.
Sometimes we gotta do what we have to do, however, most of the time, we are the ones that make it feel more urgent than it should and deprioritize our personal lives. So, here I come in front of you with some quick tips on how to have a little more quiet from work time!
Don’t answer your work phone 3 hours after you leave work. Normally you shouldn’t answer after you leave work, but for workaholics, let’s take baby steps. Also, don’t answer your work phone at least until you’re on your way to work. It’s not like you’re going to get there in your underwear!
Take all your day off! You earn them and you should take them. At least one from time to time, at the end of a big project or task if you don’t want to go away the whole time.
Don’t put too much on your plate! Unless you are paid/ task, I’m not saying to get sloppy, all I’m saying is that you need to take a line when it comes to extra work, at home, on the same money. What’s not on your contract is extra so you either take it with money or you either take your time.
Disconnect. I know, I know. Guilty again. Working with teenagers can be so frustrating and time-consuming, especially at home. However, lately, I am used to walking home to vent and this way when I enter the door, I’m not frustrated anymore. Find your way to leave what pisses you off at the front door.
I know it’s not much, and maybe it’s cliche, but it is cliche for a reason!
Also, it’s proven that taking our work at home, only contributes to the frustration and giving up on New Year’s Resolutions. Just saying…
However, see you tomorrow! Have #adreamerlife!
