January Detox: Myth or reality?

Good evening, dreamers!

One of the things I have planned for the year is to launch a recipe book, designed for people who want no compromise when it comes to their food, after all, I think is everyone’s dream to eat their favorite food and to be healthy and loose at the same time.

It’s possible? Yeah! It’s easy? Well, still yeah!

But to understand why it’s possible and easy, it’s time to debunk some myths. And the myth we are talking about today is DETOX!

Do you want a real detox? It’s time for you to plan a stay away in the mountains!

We detox mainly through water. However, drinking tap water or bottled water isn’t detox. Why?

Tap water is treated with chlorine (if only chlorine was in there) in order to be drinkable. And it carries through pipes different germs, particles, and even rust, right through your glass.

Bottled water (no matter how mineral, or natural is written on the label, is still polluted. Firstly by BPA, then even if it’s not treated, it still might have some residues due to the bottelling process.

So, if you truly want some good water for detox, go the old-fashioned way, like our grand-grand grandparents, and drink some spring water.

However, due to forest exploitation, hunting, airplanes, and general pollution, you should find a remote spring, somewhere in a virgin area, where animals drink it. Technically, it’s the most unpolluted water and will be most effective. So camp right there, or take a glass bottle, clean only with water, and take supplies.

And no, I’m not crazy or mocking you. This is the best water for a real detox. However, if you can’t procure it, drinking any spring water, will do the trick, but it will take longer, and leave residue in your body. It actually detoxes your body through the respiratory system, while breathing fresh clean, unpolluted air.

Secondly: eat BIO. If you live in the countryside, maybe start growing your own veggies and fruits. If not, try to go to the farmers market and choose bio. And bio means no plastic wrapping for GOD’s sake.
Bio also means it will rot in 3 days due to a lack of preservants.

After this, try to eat as many antioxidants. Antioxidants are molecules that help protect the body’s cells from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during normal cellular processes, exposure to environmental factors like pollution or radiation, and as a byproduct of metabolism. When there’s an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in the body, it can lead to oxidative stress, which may contribute to various chronic diseases and the aging process.
Antioxidants neutralize free radicals by donating electrons, preventing them from causing damage to cells. There are several types of antioxidants, and they can be obtained from a variety of foods. Common antioxidants include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Beta-carotene, Selenium, Flavonoids, Zinc, Polyphenols Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), and Lycopene.

And where can you find them? Well starting with dark-colored fruits and veggies like blueberries, blackberry, red onions, and red cabbage, then citruses, green and black tea, different leaves like spinach, or even nettles, cocoa, cinnamon, tomatoes, salmon, and nuts.

The next step is to increase your activity. We eliminate toxins from our body in 3 ways: we breathe them out, we peed them, and we sweat them.
We already breathe and pee every day, if you want a quicker result try to sweat a little. And no, I’m not saying to jog, or even work out, all I say is to raise your activity level. You can dance, play soccer, twister, do yoga. What is the next level of activity for you? If you are a sedentarian, trust me, jogging is the last thing on your list. Don’t push yourself more than it’s necessary and more than your abilities to handle.

Quality sleep also helps. You start putting pressure on your body with all these actions, to keep up with you it needs quality rest, in order to produce new cells and to heal the old ones. Take your time to properly rest.

Also: give up on miracle pills! Take only the pills prescribed to help with health conditions (blood pressure). If not necessarily, stop taking other pills too!

So, for a proper detox, you should cut everything that’s not mandatory for your health (pills), take a walk in the wildest forests in order to breathe clean air and drink real water. Move your body more and eat natural, bio, foods that have plenty of water and antioxidants! This way, you can clean your body. Also, doing it regularly keeps your body clean!

This is all for today, I hope it’s helpful and gives you a new healthy perspective on the trendy “Detox” practice!

Until next time, I wish you all #adreamerlife!
