Creating the perfect bucket list

Well hello, hello, and happy Sunday!

As today is a really busy day for me, I’ ‘ll get straight to the point of the talk: how we create the perfect bucket list!

For those of you who have been here for a long time, it’s no surprise that we came to this point, for the others, you need to know that once in a while I share my bucket lists. Mostly the seasonal ones, but there are plenty of them.

So, to begin we need to explain what a bucket list is. According to Cambridge Dictionery, here’s your definition:

“The bucket list is defined as ‘‘a list of things that one has not done before, but wants to do before dying’’. It allows us to reflect on what matters most to us, and our personal values, and identify important life milestones and experiences that we want to have.”

If we talk about seasonal bucket lists like fall, Christmas, or Valentine’s the expiration date of the list isn’t death but the end of the season. However, the meaning of them stands and it is to reflect on what matters to us.

  • So, to create a perfect bucket list, firstly we need to decide on a time frame. As said before it can be lifetime long, seasonal long, age gap long (30’S bucket list), or event long (Weeding bucket list).
  • After you decided on the time frame, now it’s time to have some fun: It’s time to reflect on what you really enjoy doing and start writing it down on a piece of paper. The things you write down need to be related to the specific time frame or event.
  • After the brainstorming process allow yourself to research for new ideas. We are not God, we don’t know everything there is and there might be some ideas to dream for.
  • Use the good old Pinterest or the newest toy Chat Gpt and do your research. When you find something interesting write it down.
  • It’s important to write down only the thing you resonate with. Not the popular, trendy ones, but the ones you really feel like doing.
  • After the brainstorming and research, it’s time to style your bucket list as you please and hang it in plain sight. Why? Unlike a vision board, you want to have them in your face, so when the opportunity comes you don’t miss it!
  • Last, but not least, start doing the things on the bucket list and after, CROSS THEM OFF.

You see, creating a bucket list is as simple and as complicated as it can be. It’s an exercise that helps you in the process of self-development as it trains your brain to choose only what is tailored to you and allows you to focus on your hopes and dreams.

I encourage you to try to create a bucket list from time to time and after the time frame expires to check in and most importantly to cross off things on the list.
