How Ash the cat, changed my life

Well, hello Dreamers, and happy Wednesday! Today, I want to share with you an experience that changed my life. You know the line dream until your dreams come true? Or maybe better, did you know that four paws can mend a broken heart?

Well, today’s article is about that! Almost 3 weeks ago, I received an interesting gift. The context I won’t share today, but the gift, yes. The gift was a small scared furball, with lovely orange eyes and grey fuzz. He barely meowed but very soon he got so comfortable.

I am a cat owner but at my mom’s house. Here in Brasov, I haven’t gotten any. I found a thousand reasons: I haven’t discussed it with the owner from the beginning, I wouldn’t have so much freedom of movement; I would have wanted an elderly, less adoptable cat, but same time baby kitten around trash season was coming at, my boyfriend wasn’t a kitty lover, the kittens require more attention and my work program well…well; the possibility of public transportation is limited. As I said, motifs. And I guess the biggest one is the fear that occurred last Summer when it was a poisoning season and I had to bury almost 10 cats.

Anyhow, despite all these motifs, this little cat came to me, and it was something I wished for, for a very long time. You see, in September when I moved by myself, I felt so alone, and I just wanted something to keep me busy. Maybe I didn’t get it to solve my problems, I don’t know. What I know is that I fell in love with Ash immediately.

Yeah, I named him Ash, for his ashy fur. He’s a momma’s boy, but if he has a choice, he isn’t sleeping in my arms. He likes to chat a lot, and he has separation anxiety already. When I come home from work or the city, he scowls me.

He likes to scratch a lot, but for now, he has a similar sleep schedule to me, so he sleeps through the night. He fell asleep next to my tight as I am writing this. He’s a good cat, and fortunately, he is so sweet and clingy.

Now, coming back to the title, how Ash the Cat changed my life.

Well, firstly, I am more and more careful to have order in my things and the house clean, so he won’t eat anything he’s not supposed. I spend more time at home, and when I’m not I make sure to not spend more than 16 hours without supervising him. My budget changed a lot since the baby needs distractions from loneliness. Also, my camera roll…

I’m more patient now, and I learned to sleep even on more things, like pole scratching and face licking. I am more relaxed and more mindful, I live more in the moment, even if it’s to enjoy his playfulness. I know he will grow so, I try to make the most out of this experience.

He wasn’t planned, he wasn’t expected and if I was to choose it, I wouldn’t have chosen a pedigree cat, a British one. I would have chosen a stray one. Still, I wouldn’t give him back for anything in this world.

P.S. One more reason to love him was the fact that he is born on the same day as me, 25 years later, on 14.02.2023.

P.P.S. This cat came to me after reading Manifest By Roxie Nafoussi. Coincidence? I don’t think so!

Well, this is all for today. I hope you’ll be inspired by this story and also, I hope you have #adreamerlife.
