Unveiling the Enchanting Secrets of Ika Citadel: A Captivating Journey Through Covasna, Romania // Descoperă Secretele Incântătoare ale Cetății Ika: O Călătorie Captivantă prin Covasna, România

Happy Sunday dreamers!
Tonight I came in front of you to share my last discovery when it comes to travel.
As you might remember from this article, This year I have a goal to travel to a new place every month. So far, so good.

For a while now, I saw a road sign towards the IKA citadel when I was coming from home, back in the city.
My friend Google was very helpful and enlightened me about this UNESCO place. It’s located in the woods of the village Cernatu de Sus, Covasna, Romania.
If you are traveling to or from Brasov, for almost an hour, (Cernat-Ika-Cernat), I think it’s worth it, especially if you are a Rapunzel fan. The road was ok, you can get there with most of the cars.
The citadel is actually a tower, built around the XIII-XIV century, and its legend revolves around the Ika hero. Another legend says that in the basement of the tower there are many treasures, guarded by two roosters, that take turns to sleep. Anyhow, this tower, had a brother on the Southern side, but there are only ruins now.

If you are interested in going inside the tower, it’s said that the key is at Hanna Panzio. I, for instance, choose moody weather and missed the housing, at the end of the village, but I have a more complex photoshoot idea, so next time, for sure I’ll take it.

For me, it was the perfect Sunday afternoon. The moody weather amplified my idea of photos “Rapunzel escaped”, it even snowed and made it truly magical.

One tip I can give you, depending on the season you visit, make sure you have appropriate shoes. It’s a bit challenging to hike in the snow with city boots.

Now, if the words weren’t enough, here are some pictures I took today!
