2021 in review

Hello guys!
So here we are, 365 days have past and other 365 are yet to come.
At this celebration point, I want to make a review of 2021. As a planning person I love to have the evolution of things in my face, so here is what happened this year.
I started my year with a compromise that lead me to many complications this year, also to the best realization of the year.
I started 2021 with big plans that obviously failed. Yet, they didn’t fail because I didn’t stick to them. They failed because of the emotional attachment I put on them.
I set my goals wrong from the begging. My end goal was something that wasn’t only my job, so, I wasn’t able to work for 2.
This year challenged my family relationships, my love relationships, and also my friendships.
The end of the year surprised me with the news I thought will let me with a sour taste, but instead, I was surprised to be really happy to hear that one of my exes got engaged. Honestly (I am surprised too) I am happy for them.
This year also surprised me with perfect weather to finish my dissertation. I bonded to some people I never intended, but I am happy about it.
I was also blessed to have 2 weeks of spring and of autumn at home with no work involved. I didn’t discover new places but I managed to overcome some of my fears.
This year was a journey of waking up to reality. And the journey is only at its beginning.
The greatest achievement of the year was to accept that I am the only one that matters in my life. I can’t take responsibility for the others, I shouldn’t put on my plate more that I can’t handle and I have to prioritize myself.
2021 was, as many would say, the year I hit rock bottom, but also the year that changed my perspective.
No, I didn’t lose money, houses, and things like that. I lost my faith, my beliefs, my principles, I got to the point where my proud ass would ask for the help of a therapist.
And then, I started walking up. I started choosing myself and 2022 is about that. 2022 is about me.
I hope you are at peace tonight and I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR and #adreamerlife.
