What is Christmas all about?

Hello guys! How are you?
The weekend is here and there are only 14 days left until Christmas.

Starting with the very first day of this month, I challenged myself to write some blogmases. Not because it’s a popular thing, but because I love Christmas like many of you.

But, as mentioned in many of the articles I have a question and you can answer me in the comments: What is Christmas all about?

This question was the topic of the Grinch who stole Christmas. The little Cindy Lou Who also was wandering what is Christmas all about.

Living in a world of grown-ups, who are preoccupied with all the details of Christmas, from food, gifts, gift wrapping, house decorating, ceremonies, lights, competitions, she needed to find a much more important goal of Christmas, and she did.

We can compare the reality of Cindy with our own. The streets are full, the stores are full. The traffic is full of angry people in a hurry. The to-do lists are a must, but also the wishlists.

We subconsciously compete with each other to have the bigger or the nicer tree. We want to prepare the tastiest dinner and host the coolest party. We need the best outfit and the perfect decorations to match every detail.

We need that last piece of turkey, even if our cart is full and someone else’s is empty cause he got out of work later.

We wander the streets preoccupied with all of it, but we don’t see the Christmas lights that enlighten our path. We write to Santa, but won’t hear its nice words in the cold air in the park.

At the end of the movie, little Cindy showed everyone that there is more to Christmas that we let to feel. She proved that Christmas is not about gifts and decorations and lights and food. Christmas is about love and forgiving and including everyone, about happiness and gratitude.

I think that we should follow Cindy’s example. We should be more mindful this season, more thankful, more peaceful, and maybe patient. But most importantly, we should be full of love.

That’s it for today, a short reminder for everyone not to get too caught up with minor things and focus on the important ones!

Have a holly jolly weekend and #adreamerlife,
Crissu
