Brasov during holiday season

Happy mid-week guys!

Something I want to talk to you about is how Brasov actually is during the holiday season.
Brasov is a city with a continuous tourist flux thanks to the legends next to it, more exactly Dracula’s Castle near Brasov.

Also, this city has the opportunity to be the center of the country and an easy access point from everywhere.

Being a mountain city, winter accentuates its aesthetic. Christmas even more, but let’s get down the rabbit hole a bit and talk about it!

Brasov is a city with a core of a European old town and a citadel. During the holiday season, especially in the old town, it’s decorated but, this year every single zip code has its own Christmas tree and the main streets are decorated.

This year we started celebrating before November first by lightening the tree. And Santa supervised the decorating procedure.

Same time with authorities, the locals started getting ready too.
Every now and there you see decorated windows, rooftops, and entryways.

The restaurants took action too and decorated insides but terraces too. The menus are updated too. Another holiday visual characteristic is that we have Santa around!

And even better, the weather even decided to take action too and snowed! I don’t know if we’ll have a white Christmas, but we have some white days.

So, recap: we have winter decorations, lights, foods&drinks, Christmas trees, and snow. But what about people?

Well, the people in Brasov are a thing. We can talk about tourists, that are cute walking around discovering the city for the first time.
We have the old tourist that came here like home; they are usually in their favorite restaurants and their favorite places. Some even discovered non-busy places to enjoy the old town square without actually being in the crowd.

Then, there are the students that are young and full of life and joy and sometimes happier than kids. Oh, the kids. They are in heaven with all the lights and Santa and Christmas trees and snow.
After that, there we are the ones we live or work here or both. I am a pretty happy person, and I like all the Christmas things but sometimes I admit, I have my head stuck in my phone.
Unfortunately, when it’s not, I see sad people wandering the streets. Preocupates people, people in hurry. The Christmas joy that should surround us misses.

Brasov during the holiday season is an amazing city with all the Christmassy vibes you could hope for. And as to prove, here you have some unfiltered photos.

Yet, I would pretty much prefer to actually feel Christmas more. I see it around me but, not in the eyes of people I meet.

What do you think? Should we have Christmas surrounding us or inside us? Let me know!

Until tomorrow,
Have #adreamerlife,
Crissu
