Hi there and happy weekend!
As the week came to an end, is time for us to jump into more comfy clothes and more self-centered activities. At least theoretically.
For me, the weekend is to clean up, maybe bake something, hustle, hustle a bit more, maybe go home, blog something, and chill.
It doesn’t look like a self-love routine or self-centered activity when you first think about it, but if you analyze it and know me a bit, you’ll understand that this is something that makes me happy. Also, if it doesn’t make me happy directly, the final result will.
All about me. The same as you. I don’t think that if you don’t like something, you’ll make a routine out of it. Yeah, maybe you’ll go once or twice with someone you love to bike, even if you’re not a fan. But I bet you won’t join them on a bicycle tour. That’s what I’m talking about!
So, that we established that we are self-centered even if we don’t realize it, we can jump straight into the theme of today’s talk: kindness.
It’s November. The holidays are coming and, I am all about goodness even more. I am a dreamer, after all. I believe in good, so it’s understandable (and socially acceptable) to accentuate this value around this part of the year. If you want to understand me more, you can check this, and this, and this. These are some of my previous thoughts but, stay tuned cause until 30th, there will be more!
Now, what about kindness? Its definition is next:
Definition of kindness
1: the quality or state of being kind, treating people with kindness and respect
2: a kind deed: FAVOR They did me great kindness.
3: archaic: AFFECTION
But, besides this? What is kindness? How are we manifesting it? Can it be found in big deeds or small gestures?
I leave this subject open for you to complete, to give me your opinions on it, in comments, and here I’m sharing mine.
Kindness is an emotion. It’s something we all felt at least once in our lives. I think it’s a lifestyle, a virtue, a medicine. I also love to believe that is a core value for a dreamer.
I like to say and trust the fact that to be kind means to help others without expecting anything in return. Or without asking for a further favor, even without them knowing.
Also, kindness is constant in our souls and lives. Are we kind if we help someone and same time we hurt another? I think not! We’ll be indeed kind when we can show it even to the ones that we dislike.
And how do we show this kindness? We give it with the faces we make. Yeah, smiling, sometimes, correction: most of the time, is a kind gesture. Active listening is also appropriate. We all hear, but how many of us listen? And we all need someone to listen to us. We can’t do much, but this is something we can do. Free hugs are another thing on the list, same as not being right. Yeah, sometimes, keeping our mouth shut is an act of kindness. Giving a tissue to someone who’s crying, pouring clean water to stray pets, sharing your sandwich with a homeless, buying from that old lady in the corner, taking a photo for someone, encouraging someone-yeah all these are forms of kindness. Other examples are: letting someone’s granny sit on the bus, keeping the elevator door open, loving someone, letting a kid win the game.

Do you see how simple it’s to be kind? I think it’s a perfect opportunity to start being kind these days. As I said before, let me know in the comments section!
I appreciate that you stayed to read it all, and I hope you have a great weekend.
Have #adreamerlife!
