Children bucket list

For now, things slowly start getting better, so social-distancing measures are less strict.

We all had to stay in for most of the time, it was hard for all of us, but it was hard especially for kids. Why? Cause for us was easier to understand why we had to stay in, why we couldn’t go out.

For them, it was like a punishment.

Those months or weekes we stayed in made us understand better the importance of spending time outside and that is why I prepared a children bucket list, so we can spend time and enjoy our kids, our little sisters and brothers, cousins and so on!

Also, in Romania 1st June is International Children’s day. It’s celebrated at this date in several countries, in other at November 20, and other have a different date.

My childhood was pretty much tech-free. I would go out for hours, get dirty, scratch myself, play with other kids, play with pets and chickens, run from geese, come home only to eat.

I am not saying my childhood was perfect, but my childhood was corona-free. The only way I would stay in was only if it rained or I did something bad.

Kids today had to stay in, some of them still have to be in. It’s not quite fair for them, but we have to make sure that they are ok, they handle this situation.

Below you can find some activities I remember I liked, some activities I still love and some that I would have liked to try. These activities are also a good opportunity to teach little ones about different things!

-Chalk paint

I don’t have talent when it comes to painting, drawing but I remember how happy I was on 1st June and I was drawing with chalk.

-Water fight

Summer is here, warm weather and sometimes all we need is a water fight. Even if you use balloons, a hose or whatever. Just have fun!

-Camping

This thing is something I still love doing it! It’s the best opportunity to bond with your loved ones, to be tech-free, to travel on a budget, to stay in nature.

-Butterfly hunt

Those little, colorful creatures are simply magnificent! A butterfly hand may be a opportunity to learn about patience, to exercise, and also to appreciate more and see the beauty in little things.

-Swing all day

For me at least, this activity is so relaxing and from what I remember I loved as a kid to swing all day. I had a swing in front of my house and I would be in it day-to-night if it was possible.

-Lemonade party

Kid or not, when it’s hot outside we all love lemonade! Also kids can be included or given task so they can learn about responsibilities.

-Hide&seek

Everyone’s childhood game. It challenges creativity first of all and of course it’s a bonding opportunity between generations.

-Treasure hunt

This activity can be a bonding activity as well as a learning activity and exercising activity.

Treasure huts are actually a tool used in different ways depending on the age, desired outcome, context etc.

Used for kids can be a learning tool where kids have to find different things (collect them) and gets reward for a good job .

-Bicycle ride

After a while of staying in, we all need to exercise and a bicycle ride can be perfect.

-Catch (and let them go) fish

Another opportunity to learn about patience, about the fact that good things take time and the animal life.

Blow bubbles

Well this activity is so magical, whimsy and fairy-like even if you are a boy or a girl, kid or adult.

-Hike

Spending time in nature, exercising, bonding, learning about wildlife, geography, nature. We all need this sometimes, not even kids.

These are simply some activities you can do with kids or they can do by themselves while staying safe and being outside!

I also made a fun printable version if you want to download!
